It isn't officially "in" until it happens at Cornerstone, and baby, proms are back! At last! A reason to dress up on Friday night. Leave your troubles at the door and dance to the cool elegance of the inimitable Jason and the G Men then wiseacres This Train for a jumping, jiving romp, rockabilly style.

The prom is on! First reactions to the announcement have been staggering. "This is great! None of those annoying details we had to put up with in high school like chaperones, dress codes and barfing dates."

One camperette exclaimed, "I'll be there to have fun and I won't let a little mud, dust, or lack of air-conditioning get me down!"

Some will go all out with corsages for their intended, new tuxes, custom-made gowns. Others take a more realistic view. "I always promised myself I'd wear that bridesmaid getup again," a young mother beamed. "This is a perfect way to recycle it."  "Remember--the thing that makes a pair of pants a tux is a stripe down the side," her husband adds with a smile.

Expect a lot of black. This is also goth night at the fest so dark elegance should abound throughout the grounds. Silk, satin, nylon net and fine tailoring will surely build bridges of understanding. "Let's not limit ourselves--good clothes can go anywhere," says one pale lady, who hasn't seen the light of day for years.

Dateless? Don't let it get you down. Just dress up with your most confident smile, and make the scene. Who knows what can happen in such a romantic setting.

Gownless? That's why they invented thrift shops. A few safety pins, some scissors, some spray paint, and any inexpensive recycled evening wear will stand out.

But what of the unprepared? Can they still enjoy hep-cat Jason and his G-men of renown? Can anybody swing to This Train regardless of apparel? That's the beauty of Cornerstone stepping into the prom act. Anything goes, so get yourself to the dance stage Friday for an unforgettable night.
