Don't Hold Back
Artist: Public Announcement
Label: RCA
Length: 13 Tracks

The four members of Public Announcement return without the help of R. Kelly on their latest effort Don't Look Back.  That's not to say that Public Announcement needs that superstar's deep vocals to sound good, but then again, it wouldn't hurt. Nonetheless, the disc combines smooth R&B melodies with some bass pumping dance grooves.

Take for instance the album's opening title track and the Latin influenced first single "Mamacita."  Calmer, slower songs include "Man Ain't Supposed to Cry" and "Slow Dance."  The latter sounds like the male version of Destiny Child's "Say My Name," and it's safe to say that the girls could sue Public Announcement for copyright infringement.  Lyrically, the majority of the album features songs about love, lust, and complicated relationships, with many tasteless sexual innuendoes mixed in between.  It's a shame that this
otherwise talented group in vein of Boyz II Men or New Edition has to speak in such a narrow minded manner and can't focus on any other topics in life.
