There Goes the Neighborhood
Artist: Peter Luke
Label: A. D. Café Records, Inc.
Time/Tracks 40:03 minutes, 8 songs

This is a highly instructive project for any untested artist with the itch to record. The elements are all here: forty minutes of music with inventive rhymes, a folksy delivery and classic rock backup. Unfortunately, the rhymes are so inventive and the perspective so narrow that should the Springfield Players ever decide to transform Left Behind into a musical, Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, could borrow from this project. His writers will have a tough time topping songs like “Blood Bath” (“If you’d like to lose some weight, lose the weight of sin.”), “Shake and Bake”  (“Shakin’ and a bakin’ Tribulation makin’, Everybody’s finding out that Jesus isn’t fakin’”), “Without the Lord I’d be a Masochist” (“I might as well cut myself, ‘Cause there’s no pain as bad as sinfulness.”) and “As the World Burns.”
