Mueller's Musings: A Look at October 2002 Releases

Man.  September was a month to break the bank with some great new releases, and it looks like October will be more of the same.  I don't even know where to begin with so many great discs coming out.  But here are a few to look out for:  October 1st sees the first mainstream release from Stavesacre, a truly great band. Also of note is a release from Johnny Cash.   On October 8th look for new stuff from Chevelle, Richard Buckner, David Gray, Tom Petty, and a new Starflyer 59 ep.  Then on 10/15 it's the latest disc from Buddy Miller as well as a disc of previously unreleased songs from the late Jeff Buckley.  On Oct. 22nd it's the Essential Leonard Cohen and Best of collection for David Bowie.  Also that day is the new Santana disc featuring performances with P.O.D., Dido and a host of others, as well as new releases from the Supertones, TobyMac (Christmas disc), and a few Tooth & Nail compilations.  And finally, at the end of the month on Oct. 29th, the one we've all been waiting for, the new disc from Sixpence None the Richer.  Also that day Rounder Records is issuing re-mastered versions of six, count 'em, six Bruce Cockburn albums, each of which has anywhere from one to four new bonus tracks added.  And as a bonus there's a new release from Matt Pond PA that day.  All that and more this month and beyond!
