Artist: Crystal Lewis
Label: Metro One
Length: 16 tracks/77:43

Crystal Lewis pulls out the stops and goes rock 'n roll on the title track of her latest compilation, More.  In addition to eleven previous hits and three remixes, Lewis cuts three brand new tracks for the musical disc.  The special treat with this package is it comes with a DVD of all of her music videos, plus a documentary of the recording process. It's quite a value for the price.

Like most of the tracks on the album, "More" the title track, was written by Lewis and producer/husband Brian Ray.  It kicks things off with a grinding guitar part and heavy rhythm, accented by Lewis' trademark vocals.  She then shows off her vocal versatility on "I Guess," the second of the three new songs.  The final track in the trio is "Like a Child," penned by Chris Lizotte.  It is a pensive, contemplative prayer to God to "feel Your warm embrace and lay here like a child in Your loving
arms."  The DVD disc holds stereo 5.1 mixes of all three new tracks. Other hits include "People Get Ready... Jesus Is Coming," "The Beauty of the Cross," yet another remix of "I Now Live" (it's rock and rap this time), and a dance remix of "Shine, Jesus, Shine" worthy of any Nitro Praise album.

In contrast to other female vocalists on today's contemporary pop scene, Lewis is always unafraid to stretch herself musically and artistically. Since she started her own record label, she can exercise that freedom.  It is the listener who benefits, since each of her albums is different, and each has its own gems.  Anyone who has thought of getting a Crystal Lewis album should get this one.  Having a compilation of Lewis' most recent hits plus three new tracks, two remixes, and a DVD makes this package exactly what it claims: More.
