ChallengePoint
Artist: Josh Jackson Label: ChallengePoint Length: 11/35:01 Josh Jackson's musical influences are widespread, as illustrated on ChallengePoint. On "Road Called Life" he sings his frustration like a younger Rick Springfield: "I'm trapped inside these walls of mediocrity". The project is comprised of infectious pop tunes that range from 70's styles ("Rhythm Shine," "You Gotta") to Stillwater Rhythm or Rusted Root. The recurring thought is that Jackson sounds at times like dada. At other points, he resembles an acoustic Bon Jovi or even Poison. ChallengePoint is just that: songs that challenge the listener to reach a point in his or her life that they will make a change for the better. Jackson does a nice job in presenting this. Brian A.
