  his Is Who I Am
Artist: Jody McBrayer
Label: Sparrow Records
Length: 11 tracks/42:49 minutes

Most of you are no doubt familiar with the Christian Adult Contemporary quartet Avalon. For those of you who are, you will know the name Jody McBrayer, one of the four members in the group. After 6 albums (and years) with Avalon he has now decided to release a solo album, compliments of Sparrow Records.

As soon as the album begins you will find yourself listening to the first three or four catchy rhythmic songs; you can’t help but tap your foot or bounce your head to the beat. Following that are three ballads and then you close the album with three upbeat tracks and one more ballad: all of which contain a diverse mix of musical styles; Pop, Dance, R&B, Rap (Yes, you read right, Rap!), and the list continues on.

Even though there are other elements throughout the album, to some, the consistent pop/dance sound may get annoying after a while. However, I (honestly) didn’t find it irritating, and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Everyone needs to consider checking out this eleven-track album when it hits store shelves on July 30th.  You never know, you might be surprised with it.
