  B-Sides
Artist: The Nobodys
Label: Cal IV Entertainment
Time: 10 tracks/32:04

The Nobodys were a pop/rock duo, mixing harmony-laden vocals with catchy acoustic-guitar lines and intelligent lyrics.  With the creative input of producer Randy Thomas, they came up with some very bright recorded moments. The Nobodys (Ben Bauman and Scott Riggan) have decided to call it quits, however, and as a parting gesture to their fans, they have released an album of alternate takes and never before released tunes.

The opening tune on this disc of B-Sides is a tune called "Bethelehem," retelling the story and reminding us of the true importance of the season. Easily one of the best tracks on the disc, with its dark, middle-eastern tinged tune, it is a fitting reminder of what the Nobodys were capable of at their best.

Other tracks which come to life include the remixed "Don't Cry (Goodnight Emily)," the remixed "Pretty Girl" which features hard-edged rock guitar, quite unlike most of the creative output of the Nobodys, "Anywhere But Here," a lament on the CCM industry, and "Razor," with its image of sin being a razor which loves nothing more than to cause us pain and agony.

It's too bad, in a lot of ways that The Nobodys have called it quits, but at least they left three decent CDs behind them, which is better than most bands can claim.  This disc of B-Sides is stronger than many groups' regular offerings.
