Artist: The Sheila Divine Secret Society
Label: Arrco
Length: 6/24:25

Fans of late 80’s/early 90’s alternative music will love the Sheila Divine.  This six song EP embraces the sounds of that era, while vocalist Aaron Perrino has a tone that is part Ian McCulloch and part Morrissey.

  Where’s my solace? I’m a nervous wreck.
Oh, where’s my place in this world?
  I feel like a speck.

These lines are from “We All Have Problems”, a song about an apparent identity crisis that would not be out of place on the soundtrack to the movie Pump Up the Volume.   “Back to the Cradle”, a rocker, may be questioning the story of Christ, telling us “I’d rather have a fable…” “The Swan”, “Black River”, and “Dramatica” make it evident that someone here is an Echo & the Bunnymen fan, while “Calling All Lovers” could be the best songs The Smiths never performed.

If this EP is any indication, I eagerly await the full length project from The Sheila Divine.
