Wow Christmas Artist: Various Artists Label: Word Entertainment Length: 31 tracks/2:06:18 minutes (two discs) With Christmas just around the corner, you can usually expect a few things. Things like snow in the air and an overwhelming amount of Christmas music being released. While the first of the two is not here yet for me, Christmas music is definitely present and accounted for. One of the more recent Christmas albums is the new addition to the Wow music series, Wow Christmas. Wow Christmas brings you two discs and 31 tracks full of new adaptations of classic Christmas songs as well as some new ones. And to top it all off, there is something here for everyone. On the first disc you have mostly AC artists such as Avalon, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, 4Him, and Jaci Velasquez. On disc two you have more rock/pop artists, the line-up includes Third Day, ZOEgirl, tobyMac, Plus One, Jars Of Clay, and Audio Adrenaline. Songs on the entire collection includes the classics such as "Winter Wonderland," "O Holy Night," "Away In A Manger," "Do You Hear What I Hear?," and "What Child Is This?" But, as previously mentioned, there are also some new Christmas tracks to get away from the same old, such as tobyMac’s "This Christmas." If you were to get only one Christmas album this year, I would have to recommend this one whole-heartedly. Not only does it bring together and showcase over thirty of your favorite Christian artists singing your favorite Christmas carols, but it introduces new ones as well. For a Christmas record, this is pretty much as good as it gets and is definitely a welcomed addition into the Wow music series. Josh McConnell 12/2/2002
