Nelson's Nuggets - September 2003 in CCM

Usually, Various Artists compilations are boring/bland/unoriginal/serve-no-legitimate-purpose/pick-your-own-adjective-here.  But, this month offers a few intriguing additions to the genre.  The newest City on a Hill disc promises more quality songwriting with interesting pairings.  Hero is an attempt at a CCM "Rock Opera" (a la The Who's Tommy), and Next Door Savior has modern artists' takes on classic Hymns.  Also, many fan favorites return with new discs.  Carman, ZOEgirl, Spoken, KJ-52, 4Him, and Kim Hill are among those with new projects this month.

Coming Next Month

WOW 2004 arrives well before the actual year 2004.  Also, Michael W. Smith celebrates his Second Decade, a CCM musician named Taylor (but its not Steve, Terry, or Dr. Edward Daniel), Christine Dente steps out of the grey, remixes, and more Christmas releases in time for Halloween!

Have a great month,
Jonathan Nelson
