Stuck on You The brothers Bobby and Peter Farrelly brought us Dumb and Dumber and Something About Mary near the beginning of their career. Since then the duo seems to have slacked off a bit with slight misfires such as Me, Myself, and Irene and Shallow Hal. I would like to contend that Stuck on You is bringing the brothers back in the right direction. Bob (Matt Damon) and Walt (Greg Kinnear) are conjoined twin adults living in Massachusetts. They own and work at a burger joint, but Walt dreams of being an actor in Hollywood. With nothing but love for his brother, Bob agrees that they will go to LA and try to begin Walt's acting career. The fact that May, Bob's internet friend of three years lives there is an added bonus for the duo. Upon arriving in LA, however, they begin to realize that getting into the business is a bit more difficult than expected. Especially when you've got someone trailing along with you everywhere you go. Thanks to being in the right place at the right time, Walt makes it onto a TV show with Cher. But little does he know that Cher intends the show to be a flop from the get go. Meanwhile, Bob's pursual of a relationship with May quickly runs into trouble when the truth is revealed about Bob and Walt's siamese-hood. Suddenly these brothers who have always gotten along aren't having such an easy time with each other. The acting performances of Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear are top notch. There is a chemistry between the two much akin to that of Jim Carry and Jeff Daniels in Dumb and Dumber. However, Damon and Kinnear have the privilege of playing characters with a little more intelligence. Just because Bob and Walt aren't dumb doesn't mean that hilarity cannot ensue. This is what the Farrelly brothers excel at. You would think that two hours of jokes regarding Siamese twins would get old, but somehow with Damon and Kinnear as the subjects, the jokes only make the characters more endearing. Though Stuck on You is a physical comedy like all of the other Farrelly brothers movies, there is an emotional level to this movie that was not present in the brothers' other work. It is this emotional level that pushes the movie to finish line and makes it worthwhile, right in the nick of time before the jokes begin to run out. Stuck on You is a movie with humor and heart. The Farrelly brothers should be proud. Trae Cadenhead 12/16/2003
