Apolutrosis
Artist: Aletheian Label: Independent Time: 8 tracks Bless the Lord, this is just
beautiful metal! Aletheian (pronounced a.lay.thee.en) means "truth" in
Greek. Out of the ashes of Crutch comes a name that better represents the
lineup and style change--harder, darker, more intricate, beautiful instrumentals
that slam and blend melody and darkness, breathing different metal influences
throughout. This band is an American band with a strong European feel.
Think of old Extol (with pianos) or some of the more intricate Euro dark
metal out there. Some of Aletheian's old material, when it were still Crutch,
was an excellent introduction to the good metal, none of that imitation
metal. Crutch is now a good place to start to find some good American bands
that play good Euro Metal. Plus, there is a nice layout for the CD booklet
artwork.
