Nodes
of Ranvier
Artist: Nodes of Ranvier Label: Facedown Records Time: 10 tracks/34:20 When Jimmy Page does a call for rock 'n' roll, a person can feel the ball drop and all of a sudden think, "Man, I sure wish I was in a mosh pit listening to these dudes." Nodes of Ranvier gives this effect. Chosen by the band to be self-titled because the songs explain themselves (HM #102), their self-titled new project is a step up from the first split EP and the first full-length CD Lost Senses More Innocence. It is an awakening for this metalcore band. Coming out of South Dakota(yeah, SD has core-type music!), Nodes nicely collides melody and utter chaos into one solid ten-track album. This CD is making both the Christian and secular hard music underground buzz and tingle about this brutal metalcore band. Nodes also gives an earful of beautiful, meaningful, lyrical content mixed in with this blissful core music. A side note: the artwork is a beauty. Tip of the day: don't drive, cook, or use anything else that could be of potential hazard while listening to Nodes of Ranvier. Len Nash 7/29/2003
