Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three Do
Artist:Relient K(www.relientk.com)
Label:Gotee Records
Time:15 tracks/57:08

Relient K does it again. While keeping the tried and true Relient K zaniness of their first two studio releases, they are covering new ground in Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three do. The CD incorporates the looseness of a younger-feeling self-titled first release and their ability to lock down different vocalizations and instrumental tones on their second release, Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek

Their influences also shine out on this CD. The punk rock/emo rock feel of Hangnail, Brandtson, Cool Hand Luke, and House Of Heroes are found faintly mixed into a lot of their songs with a tiny bit Sanctus Real, TwoThirtyEight, The Elms, and Superchick thrown in there for a better feel. Mark Lee Townsend, who has been with them since their self-titled release, does another great job of heading up the overall production with Matt Thiessen co-producing and Toby McKeehan and Joey Elwood being the Executive Producers.

A person can already get the feel of Relient K's fast-paced pop-punk from songs like "Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, and Things Like Chemistry," "In Love With The 80's (Pink Tux To The Prom)," and "Gibberish.” The emotion of Relient K is obvious in slower moving songs like "Over Thinking," "I am Understood?" "Getting Into You," and "From End To End." The spiritual content on this CD is more in the form of a pop short story about being a young teen and young adult than through worship, but the project does stop to tell people of commitment and amazement in God and a personal savior (Jesus). This band will be well loved live this summer season.
