  Genetic War
Artist: Screams of Chaos
Label: Retroactive Records
Time: 15 tracks

Previously a rarity and pretty expensive in the USA of 1997, comes a reissue from Retroactive Records and an Australian extreme/black metal band named, Screams of Chaos. The reissue of Genetic War is digitally re-mastered, for a sharper sound, and includes the thirteen original tracks with two bonus cuts.

Our subject consists primarily of black and extreme metal, with death metal and cyber-industrial thrown in, over slamming drum work with a really punishing double pedal. Heavy bass guitars, combined with a lot of crunching, chomping, and riffing guitar work, with some cyber-industrial sampling here and there. All this breathing and seething black, extreme, and death vocals stray around the "theme" of the CD, Genetic War. Screams of Chaos talk about battling evil, and battling anything else that would not be of God. Definitely well produced and a must buy if you're a fan of the extreme and black metal genres. It is along the lines of In Flames, Extol, and Horde.

Genetic War is just a plain old, sweet, Christian, dark metal reissue. Not at all for the faint of heart and those that don't like metal.
