Stacie Orrico Artist: Stacie Orrico Label: Forefront/Virgin Records Length: 12 tracks/43:41 minutes After many, many delays, and getting a record deal with mainstream label Virgin Records, Stacie Orrico’s self titled sophomore release has now hit store shelves (for those who don’t know, it was supposed to have come out about a year ago). And if one word could some up a lot of people’s opinion on the release of Stacie Orrico’s new album it would be an enthusiastic “Finally!” Seventeen year old Orrico’s R&B/Pop based album consists of twelve tracks that, whether being one of the fun upbeat tracks or the meaningful ballads, definitely makes her talent shine. And not only is the vocal work enjoyable on these tracks, but the extra work with the mainstream deal has definitely added some fullness and richness to the overall sound of the songs, making it an album that could definitely do well in the secular market. Overall, Stacie Orrico is definitely a great album to add to the Pop genre. This teenage girl has talent, and thankfully it’s being put to some good use. Josh McConnell 04/30/03
