  I Can Feel the Touch
Artist: Mike Hughes
Label: Elijah Records
Length: 10/56:07

Mike Hughes is a Canadian singer and guitarist who has crafted I Can Feel the Touch as a praise and worship offering to God.  There are nine original choruses written by Hughes and his wife, and one David Ruis song (“Cleanse My Lifted Hands”) that make up this disc.

Vocally, Hughes is a cross between James Taylor and Michael Card, but perhaps without the complete richness in tone of either performer.  The songs are generally long, and somewhat repetitive, like a lot of praise and worship tunes.  “Blessed Be the Lord” features the best guitar work, while “Dancin’ in Daddy’s Arms” features a Leigh Nash-like backup vocalist.

_I Can Feel the Touch_ is aimed at the Vineyard crowd, for fans of adult contemporary praise music, and would do quite well with that market.  For me, it goes on a little longer than I would like.
