Sea
of Faces
Artist: Kutless Label: BEC Recordings Time: 11 tracks Over time, people grow toward a bit more maturity and knowledge. This goes for people as well as for musicians. Take for instance Kutless; first of all, their self-titled debut CD was tight, but a bit predictable. And yet, it sold 155,000 copies to make this band one of the "buzz bands" of the time. After their debut success, Kutless had to make an awesome follow-up. That follow-up CD is Sea of Faces, and it does show maturity in lyrics, vocals, and musicianship. Not only maturity, but honest maturity, provided by [ahem] inspiring lyrics of hope, Jesus loving the single person, the life of struggles without Christ, and the struggles being conquered by Christ in our life. Sea of Faces ranges from the worship type song, "Sea of Faces" (Jesus knows every person, even out of millions of faces), and the driving rock song "Treason" (being "two-sided" in our faith should be a treason). Plus the great songs placed around these two, fill the CD with an impacting wholeness. Sea of Faces is THE
CD to follow up the buzz worthy debut, and expand this young bands' reach.
With around 40,000 to 60,000 plus CDs sold within the first three weeks
of its release (earlier in 2004), this CD will not go unnoticed.
Check out the new music, it may rock the foundations down to
