Length: 13/49:56

Good news, bad news time.  The bad news is that the band Feezel is no more.  The good news is that its members have formed a new band with a much more aggressive approach.  Liptocoal walks the line between old school thrashers like Metallica and nu metal acts such as Staind, Disturbed, and Linkin Park.

Interspersed with quotes from famous Christian speakers and authors between tracks, Liptocoal’s strength is in their songwriting.  The music, unfortunately, tends to blend together, as a lot of the songs sound alike.  With titles such as “Can’t Stop the Praise,” “Make Us One,” and “Only By Grace,” there is no question where their heart lies.

“Big Rock Show” draws a parallel of the power contained in music to that of God’s power:

May Your glory rise
At the rock show tonight
Worldwide tour – every nation for sure
You can’t hide – every night another stage
King of the show everywhere you go
You can’t stop staring ‘cause you’re so amazed…
Liptocoal, I’m guessing, draws their name from the book of Isaiah.  Like Isaiah, they see themselves as men unclean in God’s sight to speak and sing about Him.  The only problem is, if they intend to stay locked in on one style of music, their audience reach will be quite limited.
