Drawn
to the Twilight
Artist: Prescription Label: Inspyred Records Length: 16 Tracks/72.59 Prescription is a group of earnest hard rockers with an ear for melody, hearts for God, and a desire to share the Truth wrapped in melodic and heavy rock. Fans of 12 Stones, Dead Poetic, Big Dismal, and many Tooth and Nail records releases will enjoy this hard rockin’ sophomore release from Prescription. Crunchy, fuzzy guitar tone, nice finger tapping fretwork and deep bass-work abound in this rocking CD, and some nice moody, slower passages are inserted into the heaviness to provide a sonic buffer. Lyrically the band is intense and poetic in their sharing of their faith and the alternating melodic and harder edged vocals frame the lyrics well. I enjoyed the two songs based on Old Testament passages “Faithful City” from Isaiah 1:21-26 and “Kole (Co-Lye-Ya)” based on 1 Kings 19:14. Prescription’s Drawn to the Twilight is an impressive independent release for modern hard rock fans, and the band has made the CD well worth your hard earned cash by stuffing seventy-two plus minutes of jams into this disc.
