Artist: xLookingForwardx Label: Blood and Ink Records Time: 14 tracks To get on subject, XLookingForwardX is a Straight Edge band. Straight Edge is a lifestyle and musical styling tied tightly together. The lifestyle is, in a short summary, about family, no drugs, no drinking, and [most times] no sex until marriage, to symbolize and show this commitment the people who are straight edge put an X on each hand. XLookingForwardx's What This Means to Me is a CD that has slamming drums, fast guitars, and pushed out vocals, ala a punk styled hxc blamo sublimo combo. In my imagination, it's like the Beastie Boys doing really fast paced hardcore music with plenty of punk spit influence. With the lifestyle surrounding this being straight edge, the CD talks a lot about back stabbers, striving to live "edge," brotherhood, and fighting for what's right.
