Superstar & Splash
Artist:  Go Fish
Label: Independent
Time: 33:48

Most of the time when you hear the phrase “Kid’s music,” you are usually about to be subjected to something by a brightly attired group of Australians, a scary purple dinosaur, or some other equally annoying group of “entertainers”. That’s not the case with Go Fish. This has got to be the most universally enjoyable CD that I have ever listened to. As soon as I put it in, my two and four year old sons started dancing. My wife said, “Hey, I like that.” (She still likes it a week and a half later; and for her, that’s some sort of record.) I played it for my mom (she’s 57), and she asked to borrow it. Since then, I’ve played it for a dozen other adults, and group of kindergarten students. The results have all been the same. Everyone loves these guys. Go Fish promotes themselves as “Kid’s music that won’t drive parents bonkers”. No false advertising here. Except for the use of some percussion instruments, there is no musical accompaniment on this disk. All that energy and music come directly from the Go Fish guys themselves.

From classics like “The B-I-B-L-E” to originals like “The Ten Commandment Boogie”, Go Fish is pure fun.

The promotional DVD shows some live event shots and testimonials. There are also some interviews with the guys, and they really do approach this as a ministry. Their name is derived from Matthew 4:19 “…and I will make you fishers of men.” I’m hooked, and I can really see how this could be used as an outreach and have great entertainment value at the same time. After watching the DVD, I immediately went to their website www.gofishguys.com to see if they were coming anywhere near where I live. Unfortunately, they aren’t scheduled to be anywhere nearby at this time. If they do come around, I will surely be in line with every little kid that I know, and most of the adults that I know too.
