Sanctuary
Artist: Wendy Jepsen
Label: Independent
Length: 41:09

Wendy Jepsen appears to be a remarkable person with a remarkable story.  In 1996, she lost her voice...for two and a half years. When her voice was restored in 1998, she began writing new songs, with a renewed focus on worship and ministry.  She has since played for several Utah ministries and begun recording her songs.

Not only is Wendy Jepsen a remarkable person with a remarkable story, she also has the tendency to create remarkable music.  When she plays her acoustic guitar, all of the woodland creatures gather around and there is peace on earth for a time.

Well, not really. I kind of made that up.

Nevertheless, she can play very well, but it is the lyrics on this album that are the most deserving of attention.  They're not grandiose or catchy, and you will not dare your best friend to rap them in public- but they are earnest and meaningful. According to Rev. Connie Scott, Wendy "is one of the greatest independent Christian
singers/songwriters around today."  I have to agree with her.
