Calls to Deep
Artist: Lystra's Silence Label: Indie Length: 48:03 Here's another one of those albums that make you wonder-how could this not catch the attention of very record company that hears it? Guess we could blame on the fact the Lystra's Silence calls Idaho home. You're not likely to look for the new face in modern music there, but this worship infused, female led, more-than-modern rock band shows much versatility and a lovely message of hope with their sophomore release _Deep Calls to Deep._ You may detect a touch of Rebecca St. James ("Reach") and Plumb ("I Stand Free"). They have been described as Sixpence meets Incubus, but originality is the name of the game here. Thick harmony vocals by Mickie Newby tell the story we know in inventive ways that draw the listener to the heart of God. Sherry Muchira's impassioned lead vocals display confidence, vulnerablilty, compassion, and yearning. The music is energetic, imaginative and original. Aaron Sternke's super sensitive production skills definitely bring out the best from Lystra's Silence. The band has a huge heart for worshi[ and a desire to bring a hopeful message to a searching world by worshipping God with their music and their lives. Bob Felberg 5/21/2005
