  Mommy Don’t Love Daddy Anymore
Artist: Resurrection Band
Label: Retroactive Records
Length:  11 Tracks/35:59

The re-release of Mommy Don’t Love Daddy Anymore serves to highlight just how good of a band Rez band was. Chock full of stark, truth-drenched, blue-collar rock gems, this limited edition release does the band right by pumping up the volume through re-mastering, and it sounds great.

Mommy Don’t Love Daddy Anymore features Resurrection Band sharing the Gospel through eleven snapshots of life in America (and Amsterdam!).  The highlights include the prophetic “Elevator Muzik” (“soon you’ll be shopping in sensurround”), the mildly Zepplen-esque “Alienated,” and the classic cry for Heavenly help -“The Chair.”  Rez Band’s stripped down rock of this period brings to mind some of the greatest classic-style rock bands (Zeppelin, AC/DC, Cream, Clapton, etc.), and the growling vocals Glenn Kaiser (one of the best rock vocalists in Christian OR mainstream rock) along with wife Wendy’s Grace Slick-like singing add to the classic rock celebration.

The only thing that could improves this very nice presentation would be some bonus tracks. I feel certain that they would be added if they existed.  As it stands Retroactive Records has done a making a classic Christian rock CD sound even better with this re-mastered edition.  Highly recommended.
