  DMZ
Artist: Resurrection Band
Label: Retroactive Records
Length: 10 tracks

DMZ was originally released in 1982 by Resurrection Band, or Rez Band as they sometimes called themselves, the rocking ministry voice of the Jesus People, USA community. This digitally remastered CD makes the music sharper than vinyl or tape ever allowed. DMZ is not Rez's greatest album, but it is very solid; showcasing the blistering guitar work of lead guitarist Stu Heiss with lead singer Glenn Kaiser filling in on a lot of riffs. Glen and his wife Wendy are in prime voice handing off vocal duties between songs a la Jefferson Airplane's Marty and Grace. John Herrin lays an energetic rythmic backbone on drums that everyone, including Jim Denton on fretless bass and Steve Elson on saxophone, lean into for support. Wendy Kaiser's raw, passionate contributions to "Area 312" and "White Noise" are real standouts.

Listeners who only know Kaiser's solo blues or praise and worship work will be very surprised to discover the versatility and depth of one of Christian music's most hard rockin', politically aware, spiritually motivated bands in this limited edition reissue.
