The Road Hammers
Artist:  The Road Hammers
Label: Airstrip Music
Time: 48:33

So you like high-energy country music eh? The Road Hammers may be from Canada, but they have a sound that comes straight out of the good ol’ US of A. You don’t have to be a trucker to appreciate their long haul sound. From missing your little lady at home, to dodging scales, to “stretching a nickel into a dime,” and dealing with “the G-man, the T-man, and the highway cop” we can all appreciate the sentiments that their music conveys. I don’t know if Jason McCoy, Clayton Bellamy, and Chris Byrne have ever been truck drivers, but they sure can make you feel like you’re rolling down the open road just trying to make it.

Their cover of Del Reeves’ “Girl on the Billboard” is a real solid example of classic trucker style. The bass guitar starts out and you think that you’ve turned back to the classic country station again. They have done a great job of taking the classic trucker style of country and brought a modern flavor to it that really makes for a great CD to drive to.

With success on Sirrius Radio and guest spots on CMT already behind them, these guys ought to keep right on truckin’ to a radio station near you, and right on to the top of country charts. They have a sound and energy that can hang in there with all the other acts out there right now. With some touring success and a radio play, these guys are really going to keep picking up speed.

The CD also includes a video for the song “I’m a Road Hammer” and a screensaver for your PC.

Before you take off down the road the next time, pick up this CD, crank it up, and put the hammer down. You’ll be there before you know it.
