  Gentle Revolution
Artist: Scott Krippayne
Label: Springhill Music
Length: 10 tracks/40:39

“The idea behind Gentle Revolution is change,” informs Krippayne of the background to his latest musical venture. And anyone who has heard Krippayne’s past work (mainly polished piano-based ballads) will attest to the fact that new album Gentle Revolution rocks harder than Krippayne has ever hazarded before. Krippayne has owned up to being inspired by Switchfoot, Maroon 5, Sting, and Billy Joel in this new approach.

Truth be told, it does pay handsome dividends because Krippayne manages to keep a balance between the old and new methodologies which has resulted in strong material like the R&B-charged Something Different, anthemic I Am Jesus, the political In the Name of God and (my personal favorite), the impressive Shadow on the Sun.

Krippayne may have not merited a second look amongst serious rock listeners before, but maybe now is the time for reconsideration. Gentle Revolution may just be the beginning of greater things for the music of Scott Krippayne.
