The Art of Navigating by the Stars
Artist: Sieges Even
Label: Inside Out Records
Length:  9 Tracks/63.35Minutes

Far off stars in the afterglow…
But God removes the veil

_The Art of Navigating by the Stars_ is a nifty progressive rock surprise.  It seems Sieges Even has been around for a while, and I had never heard of them until I popped this disc in the player for a spin.  Many spins actually, because after checking out the sixth CD from Sieges Even (their first after a seven year extended break) I realize I have been missing something special.  _The Art of Navigating by the Stars_ is a moody and dramatic travelogue through life set to an alternatively gentle and aggressive progressive rock backdrop.  Sieges Even excels at soaring vocal harmonies and tasty instrumental chops.  It is interesting to note that the band does not feature a keyboardist (usually a staple in prog-rock).  But the keys are not missed in the musical landscape that Sieges Even creates on the CD.  The guitar sounds on the CD is especially nice on the ears, providing a bell-like tone that is unique and distinct.  Recommended for fans of Rush, and Dream Theater.
