Artist: The Sound Gallery
Label: Independent
Length: 13 tracks/61 minutes

If I told you Eric Campuzano and Andrew Prickett were involved in an atmospheric rock project with former Raspberry Jam front man Herb Grimaud Jr., most would be drooling to hear it. But let me tell you, the salivation will quickly dry up. In what is possibly one of the most unlistenable albums in recent times, The Sound Gallery offer up 61 minutes of pure noise. Yes, it’s epic and sonically gigantic, but offers absolutely no substance. At least when bands like Hammock and Explosions in the Sky sculpt soundtrack-like landscapes, they remember the listener as they write their songs sprawling anthems. There isn’t much more to say about The Sound Gallery other than it cannot be recommended, not even to fans of Hammock or Explosions in the Sky. It doesn’t even compare.
