Mercy Flood
Artist: Shattered Silence
Label: Self released
Length: 11 tracks/47:01

Acoustic emo, anyone?

For the want of a better word – although emo folk seems plausible – that is perhaps the best description of the sound on _Mercy Flood_ I can come up with. Shattered Silence is a very young band – average age being 17 – yet the mature work on _Mercy Flood_ belies that somewhat. Songs like the ballad "Something" which speaks of God’s power to restore our lives and the lively "Sacrifice" which reflects the truths found in Romans 12: 1 viz “More of you and less of me/I lift my hands for the world to see/And I could worship in my closet of comfort forever/But if I ain’t showing you to everyone/I ain’t living the life” reveal this band of teenagers as one to watch for.

Promising debut from a promising band.
