Dead Poetic
The widely anticipated Dead Poetic concert started as the exterior lights went low, and the stage lights glared an exotic brilliance of color, welcoming the five band members to the stage.  The crowd was expecting a great performance.

As Dead Poetic started performing, a new sound came from them- unlike the sound that die-hard fans are used to.  A wall of disappointment could be felt amongst the crowd until the band broke out into the song, “These are the Words” in which the entire crowd sang and danced along with the band.  Dead Poetic had a hard time interacting with the crowd up until this point.  Several fans were heard complaining about Dead Poetic’s new sound; comparing it to the sound of the popular secular band, Nickelback.

Releasing a new CD on Halloween 2006, the lead singer felt the need to not only advertise the release, but push the fans to purchase their merchandise in an “over-the-top” fashion.

Besides the reminiscence of Dead Poetic’s old and loved songs, the new sound made fans wondering if staying around for their show was worth it or not.
