Until My Heart Caves In
Artist: Audio Adrenaline
Label: Forefront Records
Time: 11 tracks/ 38:39

After drifting into pop territory with several of their recent albums and songs, including their hit single "Ocean Floor," Audio Adrenaline returns to their rock roots with Until My Heart Caves In.  The album starts off strong with the energetic "Clap Your Hands" which has already gotten play on ESPN.  Its a fun song in the vein of the band's classic song "We're a Band,"  A fun song that should not be looked to for deep lyrics.  The album slows down for the title track and slows down even more with "King" which continues the theme of devotion to God first seen in the title track, as they sing out:

You are my King, You are my King
I bow down before you and crown you the King of all Kings
Forever I'll sing, forever I'll sing
I'll sing of your mercy and how I have been set free
The harmonica on "Melody (Lost Inside the Wonder)" adds a new feel that is not normally found on the band's music.  Surprisingly, Tyler Burkum takes lead vocals on this song as well as some of the other songs on this project with Mark Stuart stepping into the background.  This brings a freshness to those songs.  The group even does a cover of the classic song, "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher." Other standout tracks on this project include "Undefeated" and "Light of the Sun."

Top to bottom this is the best release from Audio Adrenaline in years.  This solid release is easily one of the best of the year top to bottom, one of those rare releases where you won't find yourself hitting the skip button.
