Artist: Family Force 5 Label: Gotee Time: 40:42 Play that funky music white boyz. Family Force 5 is five white guys from ATL who are out to funk up some crunk rock. This CD is full of hard rock guitars and crunk vocals. Something like a joint venture between Outkast, The Beastie Boys, and Rage Against the Machine. Shoutouts to break dancing, mullets, collard greens, and grits abound. Guitars on “Love Addict” sound a little like NIN. The list of influences here is too wide to list. Being from a part of the country where the mullet has never gone out of style (people actually impose them upon small children), I found “Kountry Gentleman” touching. I come from the land where the mullet attacksMost of the songs seem fresh and some of them almost seem to be genre-busters. The only song that really let me down was “Replace Me,” which was a last minute addition to the disc and sounds like an Audio Adrenaline retread. Justin Wright
