Jesus Is: Live Worship from London is a worthy worship import from our brothers and sisters across the big pond and nice addition to today’s modern worship movement. Jesus Is features an animated group of 7,000 worshippers in the Dominion Theater…the meeting place of the Hillsong London congregation. The church is located in the theater district and pulls in a young crowd that adds an element of excitement and enthusiasm to the live recording. The first five songs rock pretty hard (and a bit generic), then Jesus Is segues into a superb set of slower songs with a guest spot by well-known worship leader Matt Redman. The CD closes on a high note with "Above All" (sounding very Coldplayesque), the modern classic "How Great is Our God," and the powerful and dramatic praise anthem "Jesus Is." Jesus Is is recommended for fans of the modern worship genre, Matt Redman aficianados, and for those who like some modern, European-sounding rock thrown into their worship mix.
