Faded Memories
Artist:  Stacy Jagger
Label: Independent
Time: 53:16

As the first notes Stacy Jagger sings came out of the speakers, I thought, "This lady can sing!" After listening to the CD countless times since then, all I can think is, "This is what singing is supposed to sound like." Musically and vocally stunning. You could put Jagger up next to Allison Krauss and she could hold her own.

Jagger wrote or co-wrote all the lyrics. Faded Memories was written in memory of her mother.

All the colors of the pictures are faded
Like the song we danced to that summer
 That faded to fall
And all the colors of the rainbow
 Are fading to blue
And everyday I sit here just waiting for you
 With faded memories
 And your faded photograph
The musicians are just as talented as Jagger. They pump out solid country bluegrass tunes with emotion and heart. A few of the songs venture into blues. For the most part it comes across with the same intensity. The only song that I found disappointing was "Living Bread Woman." It seemed like it didn't fit with the rest of the songs on the CD.

I'd have to say that this is the best CD I've listened to all year.
