KJ-52
Remixed
Artist: KJ-52 Label: BEC Recordings Length: 18 Tracks/62.54 Minutes Rapper KJ-52 has dropped his 6th release KJ-52 Remixed--a rhythm bomb loaded with rock, rhyme, funk, and fun. Remixed features fifteen faith-filled fun trax o’ wax…rebuilt and remixed versions (w/new and updated lyric content) of songs from four previous releases. The lead-off track “Fivetweezy” is a dope disco-funky bit of KJ-52 fun, and “Are You Real” offers a dramatic version of the rocker song featuring Jesse Ribordy & Joseph A. Kisselburgh of Falling Up. KJ also shares 4 news songs, including a rocking collaboration with Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch “Run for Cover,” and the wacky acoustic beats of “Napoleon Dynamite” (with loads of Dynamite quotes direct from the script of the cult classic…maybe too many quotes). The inclusion of “Dear Slim Pt. 2” is unnecessary as well. We all need to keep praying for Slim Shady, but it is time for KJ to move on (maybe my weariness of the topic comes from having to spin “Dear Slim” around 4 billion times on Christian radio). As it stands, Remixed is a worthy and all-around positive addition to KJ-52’s body of work. If you are a fan, you will love it…and if you like rap and don’t mind a bit of sillyness (with some serious stuff thrown in for balance) then you need to pick up KJ-52 Remixed. And for icing on this tasty rap cake, check out the cool guest rap spot by Pigeon John, the reggae-tinged Hispanic rap of Funky, and a very cool hidden track featuring a contest from KJ himself!
