Showdown at the Discotheque
Artist:  The Moment
Label: Indie
Time: 33:32

The Moment may be from Rockford, Illinois, USA, but they have a very English sound. Showdown and the Discotheque sounds like somebody threw a synthesizer and drum machine on stage at a punk show. This is a good thing. The result is a high energy album that you could mosh to and actually dance to at the same time. Songs range from reminiscent of the Cure and Dance House Children to Refused.

The synth might turn some punk fans, and the punk might turn off some synth fans, but, to quote the song “Take What You Want”:

 Somewhere, someone is pleading
 God, please turn it off
 But, somewhere someone's screaming
God, please make me just like them
