End of Silence
Artist: Red
Label: Essential Records
Length:  11 Tracks/46.57 Minutes

Red’s debut End of Silence is an impressive outing that immediately brings to mind a combination of Evanescence and Linkin Park with a bit less of the angst brought by those two bands (OK, a LOT less angst than the previous two bands…and this is a good thing). The music is a potent, dramatic blend of melodic and at times heavy rock with some techno-touches and effective use of real (instead of synthesized) orchestral strings. The strings bring a nice touch of texture to the rock of End of Silence and provide refreshing depth (and even a wee bit o’ world music flavor to the mix)-check out the cut "Lost" for a great example of how the strings mesh with this rocking band to create a memorable musical experience. End of Silence is a great headphone album!

End of Silence explores the themes of a relationship with God from a desperate and longing perspective, adding the drama created by the musical backdrop and delivered convincingly by vocalist Michael Barnes. Red’s End of Silence is a notable first outing by a new band worth checking out.
