Bigger Than We Are
Artist: Six Days From Sunday
Label: ndependent
Length: 10/38:22

Six Days From Sunday is a Florida band that combines the sounds of Switchfoot, Wisconsin indie band Huddle, and every hard rock/emo band of the last five years. Bigger Than We Are, their latest output, deals with the daily struggle John the Baptist described about Christ: "I must decrease, and He must increase."

"Save Me" (not a Rich Mullins cover) depicts a habitual backslider, one who continues to return to Christ, begging for forgiveness and yet another chance at restoration. It occasionally reveals some Smashing Pumpkins influence, particularly vocally. "Return to Me" is the other side of the coin, a plea from Christ to His children.

"Down from the Upper Room" seemingly portrays the disciples on the night of Christ's arrest, while "According to Me" is the most powerful track on the disc.  Sung with the intensity of Live, it shows the singer trying to connect with an audience member, not just on a surface level of mutual attraction, but also sincerely hoping the concertgoer is getting the message behind the performance.  When it asks "If I move your body, can I move your soul?" Six Days gains validity in the goal of their ministry, and poses a question all "Christian" acts could ask themselves.  Bigger Than We Are, from its title alone, paints the proper perspective musicians need.  A little self-examination never hurt anyone.
