Xotica (EP)
Artist: Innocent Noise
Label: Independent
length: 5/20:13

Innocent Noise is an interesting band in that they seemingly cannot decide whether they wish to embrace old school metal, or the harder edged sound of today.   Xotica is a Quensryche meets Ozzy Osbourne mix, while some of the other tracks here are more of a Tool/Incubus amalgam.

"Threading the Needle" features some nice bass work by David Howe, and "Psychotic" mixes electronica with a rap/metal sound a la Red Hot Chili Peppers or Faith No More.   In all, a pretty entertaining EP, with occasional forays in the European influenced operatic metal (think Enchant).  Not bad at all.
