Shrek the Third In the summer of threes, Shrek the 3rd brings one for the family in the midst of comic book based blockbusters. On heels of the hilarious 2nd installment, the green ogre was going to have to step it up in order to come close to the laughs expected. Could Mike Myers do for Shrek what he has been capable of doing with Austin Powers? The answer unfortunately is, not really. In Shrek the 3rd, it is all about procreation. Who will be the heir of Far Far Away and who will reign in Shrek's (Mike Myers) beloved swamp? All the memorable characters are back including Puss In Boots (Antonio Banderas), Donkey (Eddie Murphy), Pinocchio and the three pigs. Also SNL fans are in for a treat as many recognizable names and voices join the troupe. Sleeping Beauty (Cheri Oteri), Snow White (Amy Poehler), Rapunzel (Maya Rudolph), and Cinderella (Amy Sedaris) join Shrek this time around. The problem is that all of the funny moments are in the trailer and for the most part you are left with few surprises. Kids will love it regardless and truthfully that should be all that matters. Shrek is rated PG for some crude humor, suggestive content and swashbuckling action. If you felt safe at the first two then you will have no problems with this either.
