Paul Reeves Invitation has an appealing laid-back coffeehouse feel.  Invitation features ten (mostly) acoustic-based tastefully produced cuts showcasing the unique and understated vocals of Paul Reeves.  Lyrically Reeves touches on love, relationships and the spiritual...as in the "This Halloween," a song that encourages us to drop our masks of pretension.  There is an honesty and touch of melancholy on Invitation musically and vocally that is refreshing.  "Real With Myself" is my favorite track...a jaunty tune with a Fender Rhodes foundation and cool euro-sounding vocal turn by Reeves.  Invitation is definitely inviting--it is always a pleasure to find a new artist like Paul Reeves who is creating spiritual art that asks questions without providing the easy answers.  Accept Paul Reeves Invitation to be open and honest (and use this CD as a soundtrack)...you'll be glad you did!
