Send Me To the Sun Artist: Polydream Label: ©20007 Independent URL: http://www.polydreammusic.com This college/modern rock vehicle does not want to give up the ghost. As a matter of fact, the lifeblood of creativity is reinforced with Polydream’s _Send Me To The Sun_. Since U2 has set the standard for simple, yet effective modern rock orchestration, all comparisons have much to live up to. Polydream’s sound is positively in this vein, not quite measuring up to the big boys, but they show potential for stardom. If you enjoy the expansive sound of U2 and Snow Patrol, then this is up your alley. They are “…about intrinsic human worth, courage, self-confirmation, and spiritual intrigue. Its members have dissimilar cultural upbringings; however, Polydream weds a vision to a unified musical sound. The songs vary from shoegazing beauties, to sunny toss-arounds, to epic symphonic recipes that tug on you.” (from their myspace profile). These Wisconsin boys have a clean sound that begs hitting the repeat button over and over. I know I did so. Favorite tracks are “Catch Me If You Can” and “Juner”, to name but a few. There is something about this band that clings to my bones and will not let go. thecannyshark March 2008
