So Sing
Artist: Riverside Worship Project
Label: Indie

After coming to prominence through the winning of a competition to appear at this year's Cornerstone Festival, Alabama worship band Riverside Worship Project have re-released their excellent debut album, So Sing. Infused with the same spirit of creativity, and anthemic qualities of song-writing which have served David Crowder and his band so well over the last few years, whilst also calling to mind bands such as Colour Revolt, Anathallo and Manchester Orchestra, this is one worship record you won't want to miss, especially if indie is your thing.

With songs such as the beautiful yet simple “What Love” and “A Life in Your Hands” in their arsenal, it is no surprise that RWP are beginning to make waves on the national scene in the US. There is a pleading, honest aesthetic to the vocals on all these tracks, which brings across the conviction and reality of the faith which is being professed here. It's such a blessing to hear such an authentic worship album, all too rare these days. One gets the impression that these guys would be singing and playing to their Creator whether given the platform of a national CD release or not. Would that we could all say that about our own offerings of worship.

If you're a worshipper, and you either love indie, or don't like your music too slick or saccharine, this is the one for you.
