Songs From the Hope Farm
Artist: Saint Lewis

Songs From the Hope Farm, the debut album from Saint-Lewis (which consists of husband and wife team Shannon and Cyle Lewis) is a vibrantly creative offering of worship. Pleasantly eschewing that tired and cliched standard CCM worship sound, Shannon's powerful vocals undulate and sear through the nine passionate tracks. The sound is full and strong, without sounding safe, perhaps comparable to the college rock sounds of bands like Lifehouse or Gin Blossoms.

While not many of these tracks would translate easily to my own corporate worship setting (Folk rules ok over here in the UK) songs such as the soulful “Rejoice in Me” and the hard-rocking “Call Me to Live” certainly pack a punch, and called me to worship, and caused me to consider my response to the grace and love of God. Surely this is the best recommendation for any worship record. If you want something raw and passionate, but which takes worship in a fresh new direction at the same time, have a listen to this record.

Recommended.

Haydon Spenceley
