When the first sounds I heard emanating from this cd was a funky dj beat, I wondered if I'd gotten a wrong disc in my package; where was the pounding metal music I was expecting? Checking the song list, I saw the first cut was just "Intro" so I was patient for a minute until I heard the rising sound of pounding guitars. Let the head-banging rock-fest begin! From the first strains of "Know Me" it is apparent that this is not your ordinary grindcore band. The instrumentation is creative and P.O.D. is very talented! I was much impressed by the musicianship of each member of the band. They have elements of alternative rock, speed metal, Spanish mariachi band and rap-core; sometimes all in the same song! The record is really a thumping hard core manifesto. However, they could have left some of the material on this disc in the studio. The band may have wanted to impress listener swith their talents and diversity, which they did, but the record would have flowed better without some of the filler. Ninety percent of this record is phenomenal. -----Tony La Fianza
