Roadside Monument/Frodus Split EP
This one's mostly for fans of Roadside Monument, or those wanting a sneak peak at Frodus before their full-length comes out. Fans of Roadside Monument always seem to hype the guys up as the greatest thing since rock began, the mix of offkey wimp vocals and chaotic emo (full of skillful, off-kilter rhythms) really turning them on. The two new songs here just don't do it for me, and I don't get the lyrics either. I remain unimpressed. Frodus has more of a straight-ahead trippy noisecore sound that doesn't hook me in either. Unintelligible croaked vocals spit out lyrics critical of modern society (I think) over a messy bed of rolling distortion on these two tracks. Cool name, but I'll pass. -----Josh Spencer
