Michael Tait Sings with Santana On
Tour, New CD
Fri, 23 Apr 2004
Rob Thomas, Michelle Branch, Michael Tait. Yes, the singer in both lower and
uppercase bands (dc talk and TAIT) has been invited to tour Europe with the legendary rock guitarist Carlos Santana.
“It is a great honor for me to accept a vocalist position with music legend Carlos Santana,” says Michael Tait. “To even be asked to join with one of the greatest artists in the history of rock and roll is humbling to say the least. I did not pursue this and was blown away when he called. While this is a great opportunity, let there be no question – I remain 100% committed to my own band, TAIT. One of the most attractive components of this is that I will be able to continue to record and perform with my band. Carlos has been so gracious; he has even asked me to perform two TAIT songs in the live show.”
Michael Tait will make his debut with Santana when the band kicks off its upcoming European tour on July 2 in France. The tour will also make stops in Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Michael will additionally take part in the recording of a new Carlos Santana studio album to be released later in 2004, with a U.S. tour reportedly in the works for next spring.
With career sales of seven million albums, Michael Tait first became known as co-founder of the four-time Grammy award-winning group dc talk. Fueled by their 1995 landmark hit, “Jesus Freak,” dc talk went on to sell one Double-Platinum and several other Platinum and Gold albums. The band was one of the first in the genre to cross over into the mainstream market, having performed on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Good Morning America, and featured in publications including Newsweek and The New York Times.
Celldweller in Spider-Man 2
Trailer
Sat, 24 Apr 2004
"Switchback" has been licensed for use in the full length Spiderman 2 trailer, making it the third comic book movie trailer to feature Celldweller's music ("The Punisher" & "Constantine" are the other two). The trailer for Spiderman 2 is
now on-line at http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/spider-man_2/trailer.
You will need Quicktime to view the trailer.
The Switchback music video has completed filming and begun the editing stage. The
high-definition video shoot took 4 days to complete, not including the construction of the set. Klayton
(remember him from Circle of Dust?) has been busy editing the video, and is scheduled to
have a final version complete within a few weeks.
A key character in the story of the video is named "Greygirl". A behind the scene
production still of Greygirl can be seen here:

stills available in upcoming Logs.
David
Crowder Band Kicks Off Gospel Music Week Live on CNN
Mon, 26 Apr 2004
David Crowder Band kicked off Gospel Music Week in Nashville with a live interview on CNN Sunday Morning. One of the most sought after artists on college campuses and beyond, David Crowder was interviewed from Nashville via satellite by CNN’s
Catherine Callaway, who is based at the network's world headquarters in Atlanta.
Crowder answered Callaway’s questions regarding his music and its appeal and relevance in the culture. “It is just amazing the wave of popularity that your music is receiving,” states Catherine Callaway at one point during the interview...Do you consider yourself a rock star?”
“I’ve got a really good pal that says ‘you guys [the David Crowder Band] are more like a moon than a star,’” says Crowder. “Because the moon, if it wasn’t for the sunshine, is just a ball of dirt. For us, the light of Christ, when it shines on us, it’s just a beautiful collision. We are more interested in attracting attention to God than ourselves.”
Earlier this month, Crowder was also featured in a New York Times cover story following his appearance as part of the Passion Experience Tour, which came to New York City April 15 for a night of worship and prayer. Respected New York Times writer John Leland attended the gathering and wrote a cover feature story for the paper entitled “Christian Music’s New Wave,” which ran Saturday, April 17 (full story can be found at
www.nytimes.com).

World Vision Celebrates
Anniversary
Sat, 24 Apr 2004
World Vision will host its annual GMA evening showcase and late night concert on Monday, April
26 in downtown Nashville during the 2004 Gospel Music Association (GMA) week.
The two concerts will commemorate the ten-year anniversary of World Vision¹s Artist Associates program. Artists working with the program since its inception have helped over 500,000 children find sponsors, by sharing with their fans the importance of the work that World Vision does in nearly 100 countries, including the United States.
Cross Driven Records recording artist Margaret Becker, one of World Vision¹s very first Artist Associates, will host the evening showcase and will also perform during the event. Becker was the first World Vision artist to travel to Africa in the early
'90s to bring back the first news of the AIDS crisis happening there. Since that time, many of the World Vision Artist Associates have
experienced firsthand what World Vision is accomplishing through the ministry¹s various programs.
Third Day Down to the Wire
Sat, 24 Apr 2004
Third Day has already set the wheels in motion for the anticipated May 4 release of its seventh studio album,
Wire. Momentum has been swiftly building as the band continues to draw near-capacity crowds in the first early days of its 85-city Third Day Live tour with special guests tobyMac and Warren Barfield. The tour has already been seen by more than 50,000 in the first 10 shows.
Tickets for Third Day’s May 3, hometown performance at Atlanta’s Fox Theater sold out quickly, so a second sold-out show was added on May 4, the new album’s street date. Immediately following the May 4 show, Third Day will host a post-concert release party at Atlanta’s historic drive-in restaurant The Varsity to celebrate the release of
Wire.
In the midst of excitement surrounding the tour and upcoming album release, Third Day has remained busy, recently visiting with key Washington D.C. contacts at a special media dinner in Fairfax, Va., before the band’s concert there. Attending the dinner with Third Day were representatives from the State Department, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), DATA, World Vision, Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum’s office, Tennessee Representative Bill Frist’s office and the Associated Press.
Mick Rowe Releases Solo Debut
Sat, 24 Apr 2004
Christian music veteran Mick Rowe has returned to the Christian music industry for his solo debut with the CD
Summertime. '80's fans may remember Mick from the band Tempest, who had two successful releases from Pure Metal Records and Star Song Records, or from the Absolute Records band Plush in the late
'90s. Others will know Mick because of his brother Jamie Rowe, formerly the lead singer of the band Guardian and now with London Calling.
Summertime has been receiving a lot of attention, including being named as one of the "Ten
Independent Artists You Should Know" by Christianity Today's music site www.christianmusictoday.com. Mick has also received endorsements from Tradition Guitars and Morley Pedals.
Bride Not Dismayed By Slow
Sales
Sat, 24 Apr 2004
From Dale Thompson, to the Bride audience: "Bride in recent months has released a new CD,This
is It, sought out national distribution as an indie band, called friends for
favors, sought out tour dates and sent out a lot of free disc to radio and magazines. Those of you who have and are supporting the band we are very
humbled and gracious because it is you that keep us going. Thus far we have had no real success getting distribution or a tour. Although the CD has
received great reviews from fans the industry as a whole has once again overlooked Bride. In saying that I believe this is a good thing. You might
be asking yourself if I have lost my mind? The answer is yes. I thank God that I no longer think with the old mindset but I have been transformed by
the renewing of my mind and now my thoughts have changed. Actually John the Baptist got treated much like we have been while he preached outside of
popularity and spotlight and gave himself to the people who would come out to support his work."

Run the Earth...Watch the Sky) continues to have a felt impact as fans flock to legal download sites to purchase the song digitally.

--"Untitled Hymn" is also currently No. 6 on iTunes Inspirational genre download chart.
--It is the No. 1 most downloaded song on the Rocketown Records web site (powered by Liquid).
